Domaine de L'Ourika 4*

At the outskirts of Marrakesh, the valley of the Ourika extends across the first foothills of the Atlas Mountain range. Boasting of an abundance of green and lush atmosphere, Ourika is probably one of the best preserved valleys in Morocco.

Far from the crowd, from the city air, and from the heat of Marrakesh, the domain is an exceptional setting situated just a few minutes drive-away from the city centre, at km 9 on the Ourika road.

Inherent to the traditional Moroccan architecture is an effortless knowing of how to reconcile rhythms of living with the rhythms and protection of the natural environment.

Seeking to employ this knowledge, the hotel was built across one hectare of land using authentic materials from Morocco and the region including bejmat, tadelak and zellige.

The outcome - an exceptional setting of balance and peacefulness crossed by the random rustle of the wind across the olive trees and the lazy ripples at the edge of the swimming pool.

The refinement and distinctiveness of Moroccan cuisine evolved over time from a rich variety of ancient cuisines: Arabic and Berber recipes in particular have shaped the way the couscous is being prepared, as the Morisque recipies have for the tajines, stews and sweet-salted dishes.

Culinary techniques, herbs and spices adopted from Jewish cuisine and that of Sub-Saharan and South Asia cultures lead to a rich and varied gastronomy.

Each villa is beautifully decorated with furniture and accessories produced by local craftsmen. Timeless iron work, sculptured wood, colourful fabrics, characteristic Moroccan seats and sofas bring charm, comfort and well-being to your stay.

The villas combine space, tradition and welcoming luxury. Stylishly dotted around the swimming pool, each villa consists of 2 rooms, a bathroom, a kitchen area and a lounge with satellite television.

The hotel restaurant can be used on a half of full-board basis to suit your daily plans; for instance you may only enjoy your breakfast at the hotel on an excursion day.
